Plunging makes you a champion for thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across Virginia. When you go for the COLD, the money raised provides equipment, training and much more so our athletes can come together, enriching their lives – and ours – through sports.
Every winter Special Olympics Virginia hosts several Polar Plunge events across the state to raise money for over 20,000+ athletes. This year the Prince William Plunge is at Leesylvania State Park on February 15th. Our Loudoun athletes, their family and friends and our supporters build a team, drive to the Potomac River on a cold morning, dip their toe in the icy cold water and then walk out and back from the beach. It is a true test of mettle and commitment. Please consider supporting the team by DONATING. Or becoming a team member by JOINING THE TEAM. We are affectionately known as the Area 14 Dunkin’ Dynamos. Fifty percent of the proceeds go to Special Olympics Virginia and 50% go to our local Loudoun program.
If you have never experienced a Polar Plunge and you have some questions before dipping your toe in, check out the First Time Plunger Q&A.
