SUMMARY:2026 Polar Plunge at Leesylvania State Park
DESCRIPTION:Plunging makes you a champion for thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across Virginia.  When you go for the COLD\, the money raised provides equipment\, training and much more so our athletes can come together\, enriching their lives – and ours – through sports. \nEvery winter Special Olympics Virginia hosts several Polar Plunge events across the state to raise money for over 20\,000+ athletes.  This year the Prince William Plunge is at Leesylvania State Park on February 14th.  Our Loudoun athletes\, their family and friends and our supporters build a team\, drive to the Potomac River on a cold morning\, dip their toe in the icy cold water and then walk out and back from the beach.  It is a true test of mettle and commitment.  Please consider supporting the team by DONATING.   Or becoming a team member by Joining the Team.  We are affectionately known as the Western Loudoun Wave Makers Area 14.    Fifty percent of the proceeds go to Special Olympics Virginia and 50% go to our local Loudoun program. \nIf you have never experienced a Polar Plunge and you have some questions before dipping your toe in\, check out the First Time Plunger Q&A. \nFor more general information about the Polar Plunge\, check out  Why Plunge. \nFor more information on sponsorship opportunities\, scroll to the bottom of  SPONSORSHIP. \n  \n
